The Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization authorized to receive gifts to support Kincaid Elementary. When you make a 100 percent tax-deductible donation to the Kincaid Elementary Foundation, you are investing in your child’s future. Your gift will benefit the students of Kincaid for years to come.
Double Your Donation
Employee matching gifts are often matched dollar-for-dollar, but some companies will give double or even triple the original donation, giving your student an even greater benefit!
Fundraising
Family Investment Campaign
In order to reach the goals set by parents and Kincaid administration, the Foundation asks every family for a minimum donation of $100 per child ($200 per family). This campaign starts in August and is essential in funding programs that occur early in the year.
Cougar Run
Students will collect pledges of financial support from friends, relatives, and neighbors. Then they will participate in a monitored running event. Supporters can donate per lap or make a flat donation to the Foundation.
Corporate Donations
The Kincaid Elementary Foundation is pleased to work with local businesses to support our mission and goals. Every corporate donation has a direct impact on Kincaid Elementary students, teachers, and the surrounding community.
Legacy Funds
To give back to Kincaid by leaving a lasting gift in honor of a departing fifth grade student.
Funding Guidelines
Purpose:
Kincaid Elementary Foundation (the "Foundation") is a 501(c)3 organization that helps identify needs at Kincaid Elementary and raises money in order to provide solutions to those needs. The purpose of these guidelines is to provide a framework under which the Foundation Board of Directors (the “Board”) will provide monetary grants to meet the needs at our school.
The below pillars provide the foundation and framework to execute the overall Mission of the Foundation while strengthening ties within our school and at large community.
Fundraising –
a. Family Investment (PTA initiatives – International Day, Celebration of the Arts, Teacher Appreciation Week, etc.)
b. Cougar Run (School needs – Reading Celebration, Book of the Month, STEM support, Facility improvements, Teacher training, etc.)
Community Connection – Corporate Sponsors
School “Spirit” – Teacher Grants; Legacy Fund (5th Grade)
Project Identification/Requests:
The Foundation has a Project Assistance Request committee that will help identify and process potential grants for Board approval. This committee will be comprised of two parents, two Foundation board members, two teachers and a PTA representative.
Project Consideration - Timing of Approvals:
The Board will consider project approvals quarterly. Applications must be submitted to the principal first for review and comment and then submitted to the grant committee. The Student Council will also be given the chance to review and comment on the application.
Grant applications will then be submitted to the Grant Request committee for further review, at which time the committee may request additional information if needed. Ultimately, the Grant Request committee will present applications at the Board of Directors meetings quarterly with a recommendation for approval or denial. The Board will then vote on each request individually, requiring a majority vote for approval.
Grant Guidelines:
Grants should fall under one of the primary three focus areas established by the Board:
Curriculum
Technology
Facility & Equipment Improvements
Grants should affect the greatest number of students at Kincaid. To the extent that projects impact smaller student groups, the Board will endeavor to maintain a balance in spending across the entire student population. Individual classroom requests will not be considered.
When considering grants, the Board should focus its attention on large-scale, large-dollar needs at the school that cannot be easily met by School or PTA funds. Requests should demonstrate how the funded project will impact student achievement.
FACs (Afterschool Clubs)
The students of Kincaid have many options when it comes to after school clubs. Please note that this program is now facilitated by Kincaid Elementary school directly. They work with local organizations to provide after school activities and 15% of the proceeds go back to the school. Please reach out to Kathy Parks, Secretary, for more information.
